Maine Coon: why all the fuss about this fluffy feline?

Fluffy gray and white Maine Coon kitten with yellow eyes, long fur, and large ears, gazing intently against a dark background.

Even those who aren't fond of cats find it hard to resist the allure of the Maine Coon. As a child, I was honestly afraid of cats due to their somewhat unpredictable nature. I had experienced petting a purring cat's belly only to be unexpectedly clawed. However, I fell in love with Maine Coons because they are so different; their temperament is almost dog-like. I've never been intentionally scratched or bitten by any of my Maine Coons. They not only tolerate belly rubs but actually seek them out. I believe they are a pet everyone would enjoy, but it's always wise to research the breed beforehand.
